The Salvation Army established the William Booth Society to recognize and honor individuals, foundations and corporations who make an annual gift of $1,865 or more to support Army programs and services in central Ohio. Named for The Salvation Army's founder, William Booth and commemorating The Salvation Army's founding in the year 1865, the society represents the values of Booth, who persevered against great odds and despite scorn and derision to organize the most effective social service agency in the world. Why is the William Booth Society Important?

 

• it encourages personal major giving among individuals of financial ability and commitment;
• it develops a dependable source of funding for new or expanded programs and services;
• it identifies new and influential leadership so important to the Army's future strength;
• it recognizes leadership giving and builds commitment to The Salvation Army;
• it directs these funds for local programs and services in the member's own community here in the Central Ohio area.

 

What are the Levels of Giving?

• Member of the William Booth Society
  $1,865 to $3,499
• General's Circle
  $3,500 to $4,999
• The George Scott Railton Circle
  $5,000 to $9,999
• The Evangeline Booth Circle
  $10,000 to $24,999
• The Catherine Mumford Booth Circle
  $25,000 to $49,999
• The Founders Circle
  $50,000 and above

 

What are the Criteria for Giving?

• the gift is annual;
• the gift may be either remitted in full or pledged and paid in increments through the calendar year
• the gift is to support new and expanded programs and services;
• the gift is from an individual or corporation

How will William Booth Society Members be Recognized for their Support?

Donors to The Salvation Army want to be assured that their contribution is spent to meet the needs of others, not on expensive donor gifts and programs. William Booth Society recognition will be focused on keeping donors informed, thanked, and cherished.

All William Booth Society Members Receive:

• Their name listed on a special plaque hanging at the East Main Worship and Service Center  located at 966 E. Main St.;
• VIP invitations to Salvation Army annual functions, special celebrations and events;
• A special William Booth Society recognition in the Today's Army newsletter;
• A special remembrance commemorating The Salvation Army's history and service.
