The Salvation Army has a special role helping families at Christmas time through our Christmas Cheer and Adopt-a-Family programs.
The Christmas Cheer program is a food and toy distribution program where families receive a Christmas Dinner food box which includes a chicken, stuffing, potatoes, apples, corn, milk, butter, yams, applesauce and cookies. It also includes a toy for every child under the age of 13.
In 2010, The Salvation Army collected 9,235 new toys and assisted 23,040 people through our Adopt-a-Family and Christmas Cheer programs.
