Material AssistanceEach of our five Centers for Worship and Service employs a case worker who provides material assistance to families and individuals. Material Assistance is meant to meet the basic needs of families including rental assistance, furniture, clothing and transportation. In cases where needs warrant more than the services we can provide, the case worker provides linkage and referrals to other community services and resources including other Salvation Army programs. The Salvation Army has formed a unique partnership with Material Assistance Providers (MAP). MAP warehouses furniture and appliances and offers them free of charge to families and individuals referred by a case worker. One day a month is Salvation Army Day at MAP. On the designated day, our case workers schedule families and individuals in need of furniture and appliances and meet them at MAP to help fill their requests. Who is eligible: Anyone with a need can make an appointment at the Worship and Service Center in their area.
